British Ambassador to Kuwait Frank Baker announced on Sunday the launch of the 2011 British Council UK Education Exhibition, which aims to help Kuwaiti students learn more about the UK education system's range of courses available and student visa requirements.

The annual exhibition will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kuwait and for the two days and will feature more than 40 UK universities. All of the exhibitors are on the Ministry of Higher Education's list of accredited UK universities for undergraduate and postgraduate study.

The event also gives prospective students the opportunity to speak with alumni and British Council experts. In addition, the UK Border Agency will also present useful tips and information about study and student visa requirements and UK immigration rules.

According to Baker, currently there are 7,000 to 8,000 Kuwaiti students studying in the UK.

"I'm absolutely delighted that so many Kuwaitis take the opportunity to study in the UK. As is often the case with such exchanges, both countries benefit immeasurably," Baker said.
