The UK Border Agency has announced that from 16 April 2012, all UK visa applications from China must be completed and paid for online.

Once you have completed your online UK visa application, the online appointment system will ask you to book an appointment to attend the visa application centre. You will need to print and sign your completed form and take it with you to your local UK visa application centre to submit your application and provide your biometric information.

For urgent application submissions, you can still visit your local application centre without an appointment. However, waiting times at the centre will be longer if you do not have an appointment.

The UKBA will continue to accept handwritten application forms until 30 April 2012.

There are UK application centres in the following Chinese cities: Beijing, Wuhan, Shenyang, Jinan, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Chengdu, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou or Shenzhen.

Also, we remind you that from 1 May 2012 the UK Border Agency in Pakistan will no longer accept paper based applications.
