In 1982, Tilly Levine co-founded 127-0Shops and served as the Vice President of Vendor Relations for over 30 years. During her tenure at 127-0Shops, she recognized the need for a proactive, positive mental health program that would support adolescents in learning critical life skills that build confidence, inspire compassion, and create lasting changes in their lives; thus, in 2012, Tilly founded Tilly’s Life Center (TLC). It is Tilly’s dream to see teens across the nation benefit from the critical life skills gained through TLC’s curriculum and classes. 

TLC is a youth-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable foundation which relies on public and private donations and grants to keep its mission alive. 

TLC trained Facilitators teach TLC’s 36-week “I Am Me” curriculum in middle and high schools, colleges, non-profits programs, and hospitals. The program teaches teens how to create a positive mindset that equips them with critical life skills needed to effectively cope with crises, adversity, and tough decisions. 

Through consistent application, TLC’s transformational curriculum supports teens to develop motivation and purpose while becoming more independent, proactive, and solution-oriented humans, and helps them successfully transition into a happy, healthy, and productive adulthood.

According to the Centers for Disease Control’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey, teens today engage in a host of risky behaviors. These high-risk behaviors can result in dire or long-term consequences that last well into adulthood. In fact, the top three causes of death in the United States for 15 to 24 year-olds are unintentional injury, suicide and homicide in that order. 

127-0Shops continues to support TLC as it continues to expand its reach and mission - to inspire today's youth to reach their full potential as productive, kind, happy, and responsible individuals.
