New style doesn’t compare

I loved the old style of the Goleta and I wish they were still available! The new style- the heel is higher and the material on the foot bed is awful! It is hard to keep clean. Very disappointed.

goletta II

Goletta II is very comfortable. It has great arch support. I have a high arches so I only buy Aboe and Dansko shoes since they seem to have the best arch support. Goletta is a great walking sandal and I can walk all day with the sandal without my feet hurting. They are well made which is important to me. And, as an extra bonus, they look very attractive on your feet. They can be dressed up or down. They fit true to size.

Best sandals ever

I needed a supportive pair of sandals for a long trip to Europe. I bought a pair of Ecco’s and tried them around the house. They were a definite no! No arch support and my heal kept slipping. I ordered these, hoping they would work. I have worn Abeos for many years, and the metatarsal support has always been great. These arrived 2 days before we left, and they seemed perfect. And they were. I wore them every other day, alternating with my Brooks sneakers. On sneaker day, I found myself wishing for my sandals! The support is great, and they are lightweight enough that my legs don’t get tired. My last day in London I clocked 10 miles in these. I’m 73, and I know I couldn’t have done it without these sandals. I think I will get another pair, just in case. Oh, and they’re cute, too!

I really need a TOUGH outdoor sandal with a Met pad!!

I so badly wanted these sandals to work for me like previous Goleta pairs I have, but better. I was really hopeful, but I know I have a tricky pair of feet to buy shoes for. I have a low volume foot with long&high arches and a narrow heel. My toe box is of regular width. I have earlier versions of the Goleta Sandal which I use mainly around the house and shopping and at campsite with socks. I love the looks of this version, the met pad seems the same and the wider straps and velcro strips are a design step up for me. I was planning to wear them with jeans and leggings in the summer (Navy). However,....with my low volume foot I cannot expect to wear these on a trail or lakeside. I need to pull down the straps anyway all the way for them to fit which misses about 2/3s of the contact between the matching velcro hooks and loops, a problem I have with my previous pairs. Why is there not more of one or the other in the blank spot between them on the straps? Also, there is a slight change in the height of the back strap, like the strap angle was cut back a bit. Not quite confident my foot won't just have more reason to exit out of the sandal like they do sometimes. But I do think these would handle the long walks sightseeing on mostly flat ground like I've done many times in my previous pairs of the Goleta. Oddly I still want to keep a cute sandal that has a met pad. A difficult choice. Any way for a collab with Chaco?? I really, really need a TOUGH sandal with a Met pad.
