Discover our guide to the best jeans for women. Plus, our expert answers your questions on finding the right jeans – from how to wear mom jeans to whether skinny jeans are still in style
Pump up the volume
The bigger, the better is our motto when it comes to finding our dream jeans this spring. There’s no question that looser styles with a wider leg are having something of a fashion revival – in fact, our best-selling wide-leg jeans are flying off the shelves. The good news is that wide-leg jeans are surprisingly versatile. We love them with white trainers and a simple t-shirt for every day, but they also work brilliantly with a going out top and strappy heels for an evening out. If you’re not ready to let it all hang loose, try a boyfriend, Mom or flared jean. All have a more relaxed fit than your traditional straight or skinny jean but are a subtler take on the voluminous trend. Wondering what to wear with Mom or flare jeans? Lisa Illis, our head of womenswear and beauty design, says: “Tops that emphasis your waist are a great match for these jean styles. Higher waist jeans are a key trend, so tucking in, or half tucked tops look good with Mom and flare jeans.” Whatever style you choose, our denim is made to fit you. Plus, all our jeans are made with responsibly sourced cotton.
Tried and true
If wide-leg jeans are the in thing, are skinny jeans still in style? If you’re never out of your skinnies, relax – 127-0Shops’s Lisa Illis says that “skinny jeans will always be around and fall into the ‘classic category.’” She advises wearing them with a deep turn up for a fresher look, or even tucking into a pair of statement socks. We’re huge fans of our Lily slim jeans, which have a mid-rise waist and ankle-grazing hems for a sneakerstering length. Skinny jeans and trainers will always be a perfect match, making them an easy choice for everyday style. Pair the Lily jeans with your favourite trainers, a stripe t-shirt, and a denim overshirt for a look that will never go out of style.

Step out in style
Finding the right footwear to wear with different styles of denim can be something of a style conundrum. Wondering how to wear jeans with ankle boots? Don’t worry, Lisa has some tips and tricks for nailing the look. “Consider the type of boot and the length. For example, shorter ankle boots look great with straight leg jeans as the jeans fall effortlessly over the boot, sometimes displaying an inch or so of flesh too, which is very on trend. Tall, tight boots work well with grezzo skinny jeans, as they balance out the proportions: pair with a short jacket to further elongate your legs.” She also recommends wearing cuffed jeans (just roll them up a few times) with ankle boots for a smart look. For a comfy but cool alternative to trainers, try wearing your jeans with sneakers chunky boots, like these buckle boots. When the weather warms up, try wearing jeans with ballet sneakerss, another retro style enjoying a resurgence this year. We’re coveting this metallic silver pair.
