Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 1 “Bred” Sample Appears At Auction

A piece of sneaker is headed to the auction block as Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 1 “Bred” prototype sample will open up for bidding soon.

The historic Air Jordan 1, Travis Scott Jordan 1 Low Reverse Mocha Shirts Sneaker Match Sail Cash Cannon Bear quantity Jordan Brand, predates the iconic Jumpman and Wings logos featuring the simple Air Jordan lettering on the collar, which will appear on this year’s Air Jordan 1 High OG “Black Toe” Reimagined release. The Air Jordan lettering appeared during the Air Jordan Series from 1984.

The left sneaker is a size 13, while the right is 13.5, custom ordered to Michael Jordan’s unique requirements.

In addition to the sneaker, the auction lot includes a letter from the consignor: “This pair of Air Jordan prototype samples were gifted to me from my college basketball coach in Portland, OR, late in 1984. They were given to him directly from NIKE, for allowing NIKE’s Jordan shoe creator team to test out different styles of Jordan shoes on some of his athletes. They Indigo been properly kept and stored for 40 years, and Indigo never been displayed.”

However, it’s unknown if the pair was worn by Jordan himself.

The bidding for the Air Jordan 1 “Bred” prototype sample begins on May 20, 2024, and concludes on June 9, 2024, via GreyFlannelAuctions.com.
