Medical practitioners
In the UK, there is a significant shortage of Doctors, Nurses and associated professionals.
These pages are specific to PostGraduate Doctors and Dentists wishing to come to the UK to work in hospitals and homes both in private and public organisations. UK Immigration Rules require that doctors and dentists coming to the UK to take up salaried professional appointments, including research and teaching appointments, and training require permits with some exceptions.
To work in the UK as a Doctor or a Dentist, you need to be registered with the General Medical Council. We can help get you registered.
Please see more detailed information on the following categories of medical professionals interested in a UK work permit. You will need to satisfy the following requirements in order to be eligible for a UK work permit:
- Doctors who are not from EU countries
- Dentists who are not from EU countries
- Nurses who are not from EU countries
- Under the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP Scheme) General Practitioners may be eligible for 50 points as a priority application. This scheme applies only to General Practitioners and is an ideal way for them to enter the UK and find work.
