Following on from a recent report published by workpermit.com – Trump loves Muslims! – A recent Twitter spat between the Republican frontrunner for the US Presidency, Donald Trump, and Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia, appears to confirm that in the past Trump needed financial help from Muslims to save his businesses from bankruptcy.

India's Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Nirmala Sitharaman, has described recent US H-1B and L-1 visa (both for L-1A visas and L-1B visas) fee increases which affect mainly Indian owned companies as a 'non-tariff barrier' on India. Non-tariff barriers refer to restrictions that result from conditions, prohibitions or specific market requirements that make importation or exportation of products difficult and costly.

A coalition of pro-immigrant groups have joined forces to launch the 'New American Democracy Campaign' with the aim of persuading two million US green card holders to become US citizens who can vote come Election Day, which is scheduled for November 8, 2016. However, the deadline for registering to vote is October 11.

It's no secret that US Republican Presidential Candidate, Donald Trump, is a racist. Much of his election campaign has focused on a hard-line and somewhat extreme US immigration policy: he wants to see Muslims banned from entering the country. However, in an apparent contradiction to his apparent 'Islamophobia', he depends on Muslims to make him money.

Recent amendments to regulations - that apply to the H-1B1, E-3 and CW-1 non-immigrant classifications and the EB-1 immigrant classification – by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will improve the programs currently in place according to US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

US Immigration says that the amendments will remove any unnecessary barriers that put workers in these categories at a disadvantage to other workers in similar circumstances in other US visa classifications.

The US Visa Bulletin for January 2016, issued by the Department of State (DoS), showed movement in dates to allow for earlier processing of employment based immigrant visas in some cases. These dates are used to determine when certain immigrants may file employment-based visa petitions, other immigrant visas, and when an immigration visa can be approved by adjustment of status or visa consular processing from outside the US.
