Carwyn Jones, the First Minister of Wales, has said that the UK will ‘have to compromise with the European Union over immigration to safeguard jobs in Wales. Mr Jones said that a ‘trade-off’ would be essential to circumvent tariffs on businesses that trade with the EU.

A-rated Tier 2 sponsorship licence companies and Tier 5 sponsors in the UK are set to benefit from a new Priority Change of Circumstance Service introduced by UK Immigration.

Following October’s Tier 2 visa allocation meeting, the number of restricted Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) available for November stands at 2,911, according to UK Visas and Immigration data. These are needed to bring in skilled foreign workers who are resident outside the UK.

Leader of the Labour Party in the UK, Jeremy Corbyn, faces a backlash from Labour MPs after refusing to back post-Brexit restrictions on immigration. Speaking prior to his closing speech at Labour’s Annual Party Conference in Liverpool, Corbyn said that ‘restricting free movement could see Britons pay the price in tit-for-tat retaliation.’
